Wrestling is a combat sport that has been practiced for thousands of years, with a history written in books as old as The First. It is practiced between two competitors of the same weight, with each athlete attempting to bring his competitor to the ground and managing to keep him there, earning points in the process.
Wrestling is divided into two categories; Freestyle wrestling and Greco-Roman wrestling. Each of these categories is distinct and has its own regulations.
Wrestling has been a part of the Olympic Games since the first modern games in 1896. Recently, the sport has seen its popularity decline during the games themselves, due to interest in other sports and the lack of competition in wrestling.
