Table tennis (popularly known as ping-pong) is a racquet sport played between two players or two pairs (doubles).
It is an Olympic sport since Seoul 1988, and the sport with the largest number of practitioners, with 40 million players competing worldwide. According to a study conducted by NASA, it is the most complicated sport that a human being can practice at a professional level. Several studies have shown that the practice of this sport improves, among others, the capacity and reaction time, hand-eye coordination, concentration and memory.
The Dominican Republic has been quite successful in the past in table tennis, with numerous Pan American gold medals and Olympic qualifications.
