Kitesurfing is a sliding sport that involves the use of a traction kite (kite), which pulls the athlete by four or five lines, two fixed to the steering bar, and the remaining two or three (power) pass through the center of the bar and are attached to the body by a harness, allowing sliding on the water by a board (bidirectional or twin tip, surfboard, race board or hydrofoil).
Several modalities can be practiced; jumps and maneuvers (freestyle), races between buoys and wave surfing. It will make its Olympic debut in Paris 2024.
