Judo

Judo is a martial art created in Japan in 1882. The sport is a competition between two participants, whose objective is to knock down the opponent, keeping them immobilized. Judo has been an Olympic sport since 1964, being one of the most practiced combat sports, along with wrestling and boxing.   In the Dominican Republic, judo is a sport with new followers, including youth participants under 12 years of age. The Dominican Republic had athlete María García represent them in the London Olympic Games.
