A NEW LNB SEASON
The 2013 Tournament of the Scotiabank LNB League, the main professional basketball circuit in the Dominican Republic, will be inaugurated next Tuesday, featuring eight traditional teams, the Eastern Sugarmen, whom are the current champions, the San Francisco Indians, Licey Titans, the Santo Domingo Lions, the Atlantic Hurricanes, the Santiago Metros, the San Pedro Settlers, and the La Vega Royals. Despite the financial crisis the country is experiencing, which translates into a constant severing in financial sponsorships which these franchises receive, the championship coordination is well on its way, and is foreseen to be, like the previous 3 editions, a vast success.
The level of institutionalism achieved by the LNB, a result of the work developed during all these months of the year by a solid organizational structure, is the best avail this entity relies on in order to set up a championship of the highest level. This serious and consistent work has brought as result, for the LNB to enjoy a great degree of solvency, both moral and financial.
Key to success:
Currently, the public acceptance, which increases daily, the support by the press as well as important and renowned local and international companies, represent the main credentials of the LNB, for the immense majority of basketball-related events at higher level face multiple inconveniences, mainly in the organizational and financial level, the LNB championships are celebrated in a positive manner and without the usual traumas. The success of the league is an indisputable proof that an activity CAN be set up, free of troubles when it comes to Dominican basketball.
