DR wins silver medal in Caribbean Youth Golf Championships

The Dominican Youth Golf Team won the silver medal in the 26th edition of the Caribbean Youth Golf Championships which culminated yesterday in the Cayman Islands.

The journey which unleashed in a 54-hole competition in the Strike Set Category per team in categories ranging in different age groups 11-13, 14-15 and 16-17, male and female.

The country which resulted earning the highest score was Puerto Rico, winner of the gold medal with a 151 points score, followed by the Dominican Republic, which earned silver with a 139points score, then Trinidad & Tobago, bronze with 135 points.

The remaining participants were Bahamas with 118 points, Jamaica with 91, Barbados- 40, U.S.V.I -23, and the hosts, the Cayman Islands with 18 points accrued during all three days of the competition.

The Dominican team was composed in the Male 16-17yrs category by Juan José Guerra a CRESO program member, whom reached third place within his category, next to Francisco Pichardo and Jean Haché. The female division featured participation by María Luisa Jiminián.
