D.R will attend to World Taekwondo Championship in Mexico

The Dominican Republic will participate in the World Taekwondo Championship, to take place from the 15th-21st, next month in Pueblo, Mexico.

The announcement was made by the Chairman of the Dominican Federation for this discipline, Mr. Francisco Camacho.

The main leading figure for Dominican taekwondo states that it would be a nefarious consequence to the nation to not attend this world competition.

Thereon we have been investing great efforts, despite having decided to not participate in any international competition due to the financial limitations we have, Camacho added.

However, Camacho explained that it would be impossible to attend the World Tournament with a complete team, as has been tradition. Instead of 16 athletes (8 male, 8 female), we will only attend with a delegation of 10; he added.

The male team is formed by Eduard Espinosa, César Martínez, Wilkin Heredia and Ruddy Mateo; while the female team is formed by Mayelin Reyes, Yahaira Peguero, Dinancy Polanco and Deysi Montes de Oca
Coaching the teams are Miguel Camacho and José Mora.
Five of the team athletes are sponsored by CRESO.
